сущ.В отличие от русского существительного дело и синонимичных ему задание, задача, работа, которые не указывают на характер и вид выполняемого действия, английские соответствия различаются по характеру действия.1. job — дело, задача, задание, работа ( конкретный вид выполняемого): to give smb a hard job — задать кому-либо трудную задачу/поручить кому-либо трудное дело; to make a good job of it — хорошо справиться с этой работой It is not an easy job. — Это нелегкое дело./Это нелегкая задача. Не gave it up as a bad job. — Он решил, что это безнадежное дело. Washing-up is your job. — Мытье посуды — твое дело./Мытье посуды — твоя работа. Не does all kinds of jobs for his neighbours. — Он выполнял разные виды работ для своих соседей.2. (a) piece of work — конкретное задание, конкретное дело, конкретная задача ( требующая умственных усилий): The teacher gave us a piece of work that would take us about two hours. — Преподаватель задал нам работу, которая займет у нас два часа./Учитель дал нам задание, на выполнение которого понадобится/уйдет два часа. It was a complicated piece of work. — Это была сложная работа.3. duty — работа, дело, обязанность (объем того, за что несут ответственность, должностные или профессиональные обязанности): What are the duties of a secretary? — Какова работа секретаря?/Каковы обязанности секретаря?/Что входит в обязанности секретаря? I have a pleasant duty to do. — Я должен выполнить приятную обязанность.4. task — трудная работа ( требующая больших усилий): а thankless task — неблагодарная работа/неблагодарный труд; to face an almost impossible task — стоять перед почти невыполнимой задачей/ работой; to set smb the task of doing smth — поставить перед кем-либо задачу что-либо сделать Не was always given the most difficult tasks. — Ему всегда поручали самую трудную работу.
